March 08, 2007: Take-Off at the Workspace Shaft Gallery
Take-Off, my solo exhibition opening, will take place at the Shaft Gallery (second floor at the Workspace), 2150 Folsom St (between 17th and 18th St) here in San Francisco. Opening reception is Thursday, March 15, 6-9 pm.
My new installation consists of hieroglyphic egg shaped wall pieces and a new series of panels exploring an innovative technique that combines ceramics and plastic. The transparent plastic panels contain ceramic figures among shattered tiles, seemingly floating under water. I emphasize the fragility and vanity of all things by conserving fragments of different images inside the modern polystyrene.
