This installation is dedicated to my late father. It explores the personal stories and experiences shared by humanity. The central piece consists of hieroglyphic egg-shaped wall pieces, symbols of beginning, arranged in particular configurations which carry their own symbolism. Each figure has a unique placement, a specific story and its own name, all unified by a common upward movement as if the shapes are about to take flight. This installation also includes a series of panels exploring an innovative technique which combines ceramics and plastic. The plastic transparent panels contain ceramic figures among shattered tiles, seemingly floating under water. I emphasize the fragility and vanity of all things by conserving fragments of different images inside the modern polystyrene. The exhibit is surrounded by life-size columns of welded steel rods crowned with candle holders. When candles are lit the installation evokes a spirit of honoring the souls that have passed. Like an ancient labyrinth, this installation inspires personal contemplation and reflection upon the viewer's own connections with loved ones, those in this world and those that have passed on.
